Private investigator
A private investigator is someone who collects and analyses data, usually for the purpose of preventing a crime.
The private investigator works in close consultation with the client. As an investigator, it is important that data is handled with integrity.
A private investigator has a diploma and can work as a certified investigator at a recognized investigation agency. After obtaining the diploma, the private investigator is capable of conducting investigations independently or together with other investigators.
Rules that a private investigator in the Netherlands must comply with are, among other things, drawn up in the Private Security Organizations and Investigations Agencies and the Personal Data Protection Act.
